Huh? SE can handle up to 512 and it doesn't do that efficently. I believe it might be able to handle more with some kind of patch from MS.

Sorry, but the guy is right, but anymore than 256mb with win98 or win98se is wasted thru bad management.

This has been discussed many times on this forum and you can find the previous threads on this matter by using the forum search,
Windows 9x can handle up to 512 mb of ram however how well it does this is open to debate, but it is comfirmed that in order to exceed this requires modificications to the OS details of which are available on microsofts site and some of the previous threads discussing this topic.
It is also worth pointing out at this time, that it is not advisable to type a complete sentance in capital letters or uppercase as this is considered SHOUTING !
