Is it worth it?

Okay everyone I have a question for you all

If you take a look at my sig, you'll see I have xp1700@1705mhz, but it is on a asus a7v133c mb, yes sdram. Now to my question, is it worth upgrading to a ddr33 mb or waiting around a bit longer for hammer or ddrII 400 mb's and ram.

If I do upgrade now it will be an asus a7v333, I just happen to like asus.

Second question: Is it worth unlocking and therefore losing warrant when considering my setup?

i think you should wait as your system should hold you until the
next gen comes.

i don't think it is worth unlocking as it seems you have reached
the limit of your CPU and your ram wont be able to really hit
those crazy speeds, especially without at elast a 1/5 divider.

Lots of extra performance. The Ram will run at basically twice the speed. With SETI my 1.4 on sdram does the units in 5h30min but on one with DDR it does them in 4h flat. Pretty big differnce if you ask me. You will also notice a big difference with 3D games and graphic intensive programs. Get something cheap right now. Do not waste the meney on a DDR333 board, wait for the DDR400 (gona be awhile). Look at newegg.com for refurbished MBs I got the Epox in my sig for $50 shipped. I think the price may have dropped more.

so for 3dmark I currently get 6293, about what would I get with ddr333?
