Ok, so after re-lapping and putting a better layer of ASIII on my PIII 667, I OCed it up to 795. Idle temp is 89 degrees (so far, prolly dropto 87 over night). The odd thing is, it was at the same temp when I had it at 750. Im using ASUS PCProbe to check the vitals, and it seems like its been accurate so far. I just wanted to get some oppionions on why the temps are staying low even though Im clocking it higher.

P.S.
Im not complaining, Im happy the temps are low, I just dont want something to be wrong that I cant find, and then have my PIII burn a hole through my case.....although...that would be kinda cool. To bad Pentiums are too smart to burn up. Maybe Ill get me an AMD fer kicks, muahahahaha.

I am just taking a guess but i do know that increasing voltages is what really give you tonz of heat, and i dont think that increasing the multi, or whatever you did is going to give you that much more heat.

The "throttling" that Intel has to prevent overheating of their chips brings the Mhz down--many times to a point much lower than the stock speed that it normally runs at. From what I've heard, even if your system says you are at a certain Mhz, when the chip is in the throttle mode it will be actually be running at a much lower Mhz. Benchmarking will usuallyindicate this. Maybe this is why your temps remained the same--I hope not.
