View Full Version : Delete?
i don't seem to be able to delete my own threads... is this a rule on oc forums? or is something messed up?
thanks.
You're able to delete your own individual posts, but not an entire thread.
hmm... ok. never been on a board where you couldn't delete your own threads.

i think not being able to delete threads is a good idea, if you have put a good reply that may be valuable to someone then it is deleated you may be a bit annoyed.

I think that you should be able to delete your own threads if your the only one who has posted.
You should also be able to MOVE your own threads, it would save the mods a lot of work.
You should also be able to change the name of the Title of your thread.
Ok I'm finished now!!:p

i totally agree and have said it before too.
i agree to each one of them because i think in fact they couldnt cause such a big problem in the forums. actually they could, but ppl wouldnt do it too often, and would also fix stuff by their own.
i agree to that about deleting a thread just the way you said: once there is no any other post in the thread.
moderators say we can PM them in order to get any of those fixed but we usually wont do it.
i remember i could delete my own threads just that way, when there was no other post in it, so if that was changed because any problem then it might be better the way it is now.

Letting members move their own threads would be a bad idea, I think. There aren't really that many threads to move, and I think there would be people moving their threads BACK after we put them somewhere.

I think there could be a limit to the amount of times a Thread can be moved, and the priveledges could easily be disabled...;)
All in all I guess I'll leave the moving to the Mods, how bout the other ideas though?

THe reason you can't change the title to the thread is in how it's changed...you'd have to have access to a mod only tool. That's a limitation of the software.
For deleting a thread that you started and nobody has posted in...I thought that was possible, but I've never been able to test it. Ever since we changed the ruleset I've been a mod...and so could do so anyway. :D

Ok Thanks, I suppose the limitations are there for a reason, I mean otherwise you'd have nothing to do!:D
