Will more memory help Seti run faster?
I have 256 now will more help it run faster?
Thanks

At that level I doubt more will help unless your machine is already having to hit the swap file alot.

Yeah, I have a P166 running 48megs and I feel it... 64megs is recommended for running SETI 24/7, 128's probably best. I don't think it would make much of a difference past that.

All the rigs I have going right now have 256, but I don't think there is any increased speed after 128 (for a single cpu).

I just happen to get 256 sticks most of the time.

Seti doesn't use much ram, but it does like bandwidth so you will benefit most from getting the fastest ram timings possible.

Ok I am using Corsair PC3000 all turbo settings so I guess I am good there..
Thanks all for the help;)
