I have done the unlocking on my 1800+
used the gap filler and conductive grease method ..
It looks great but I want to be sure all is well before I fire it up ..

Question : the pits that are etched out .. is the bottom of the pits ground ?? I want to make sure that Im not shorting out from pad to pit so to speak .. I may have dipped into the gap filler while using the conductive grease ... If theres a way to check things out with a multimeter I would like to do that ...

Any ideas ???

as i understand it the actual letters L1 written on the chip are a ground, you could put one probe from the ohm meter on those letters and touch each of the bridges individually to see if any of them are connected. that single dot may also be a ground.

that is what i have read, so i cant be 100% sure that its true. also i am not sure if the bottom of the pit is a ground or something else. if you dont wnt to risk the chip you could clean it up and try again, i dont think you can be 100% sure that its all set up correctly unless you do it again.

best of luck :)

Yeah .. I think I'll do it again with Nail polish .. or super glue ..
That gap filler is easy to work with but doent harden at all ..
Its about the same viscosity as the conductive grease ...
Thanx for the reply ...

I thought if I knew the pits were ground it would be quicker to use a meter ..
