would running an older slower drive for strictly virtual memory bottle neck my system
 
you want virtual memory to be as fast as possible.

i wouldn't get a slower drive for that. 7200 rpm small size would be fine however.
 
these are the specs as far as i can tell....its really old so its probally not 7200 (AC21200 Caviar 1281MB 3-1/2" SL ATA2 )
 
yea well i think ill leave it connected till i see some kind of performance loss...i see it as being better than haveing to use one of my main drives atleast this one gets used for only this
