I should be gettin my samsung ram back from newegg on friday but i have a bad feelin it is gonna be DLT and i am going to have to return it again. I am never gonna order from newegg again (dont ask just read :) ) so i was thinkin from gettin XMS2700 corsair from GoogleGear for only $150.

Anyone have any experience w/ this stuff?

I just returned a stick of Corsair XMS 2700 because it was less than stellar to say the least.

Just a tip, buy the XMS 3000 or 3200 as the 2700 uses 7.5ns Samsung chips and the 3000 &3200 use 6ns chips ;)

Corsair customer support is really great but Im sticking with Mushkin (Mushkin support imho is even better and thats a tall order)

I've had mine to FSB 200 but with video tearing it is a bore! Here is a shot at 191, turbo settings with XMS 2700, one 512MB stick.

very nice... how much voltage you need to put in that? my mobo only supports up to 2.85 is that enough?

i would think that would be a lucky draw to get a stick that would do that. thats very very good for a pc2700 stick... remember... they sort out the good ones for their pc3000 and pc3200.

I don't think 2.85 will do it, I run from 2.9-3.0

I got this BEFORE 3000 or 3200 was being sold by Corsair, this was their top memory at the time.

ok then i will get some XMS 3000 it is $20 more but i hope it is worth it.

now my question is what is better xms 3000, which has Cas 2 as default spd or xms 3200 which has 2.5 as default.

i am thinkin i will be better off w/ 3000 cause i aint gonna go above 190fsb. am i correct here? will pc3000 do 190fsb aggressive timings w/ 1.85v?

yeah.. i was saying that more for emericana's benefit than yours.

since all the good ones are now in their 3000, 3200 stock i doubt the 2700 is as good as it was when you bought yours.

yeah since pc3000 is about 183mhz i'd think it would go up 7mhz.

the 3200 modules are tested to 200 Mhz@2-3-3-2t and 166 Mhz@2-2-2-1t. the 3000 are tested to 185Mhz@2-3-3-1t and 166Mhz@2-2-2-1t.
FYI
looks like some quality ram

Corsair 2700? Good stuff...

I have a 256 meg cas 2 pc2700 stick of Corsair from Googlegear.com, and man is it good stuff =) My timings are 2-2-2-5-1, and here's a picture of my Sandra rating... almost at 3200 speeds =)...
Googlegear Corsair is good stuff.

Does this mean that it will run those specs with no additional voltage? (ie 2.5)

how much voltage do you think i will need to do 190 @ max aggressives with the 3200?

i would assume that they are tested with default voltages, i know they are either tested on the epox 8k3a or the asus p4s333.

ok thanks guys. i am going to get the 3200 ram. i need to build a computer for my dad anyways so i will give him the samsung 2700 thats comin in the mail.

As of now i am talkin to someone who knows how to mod bioses to see if he can find a way to add a 1/6pci divisor into my mobo. if he can this ram will come in very handy and i will be able to run it probably at 9x215 (my vidcard craps out at 220) and my harddrive at 195 with the 1/5 divisor.

ok today i ordered 1 512mb Dimm of Corsair XMS 3200 off of googlegear. Once it comes in i will tell you guys how it performs.

i am making a pc for my dad anyways so i am gonna use the samsung on his

a p4s333 only goes up to 166 fsb.:(

r u sure?

this is off asus's site
Accurate 1MHz adjustments of system-bus-frequency up to 200MHz (i.e. front-side-bus up to 800MHz)

I have a 512 stick of xms3000. When i have my 1.6a running at 144 fsb i set my cpu:dimm divider to 3:4 and ram voltage to 2.7.

What speed will this be running the ram at and do you think it will handle it fine??

deks:eh?:
