View Full Version : Comp Problem
My other comp (not the one in the sig) won't turn on. I set it up a few days ago and it has been working fine. Today, I decided to take out one of the removable drive bays to make for better airflow. I took it out and mounted the hard drive into the upper drive bay. Then I put a fan where the lower drive bay used to be. Now the comp won't even turn on. I tried clearing cmos many times and tried turning it on from the mobo and not the power switch. Nothing works, the fans don't spin and nothing turns on. Any suggestions?
The system:
Athlon 900mhz
ECS K7VZA
TurboLink 420w ps
Alpha Pal 8045

could you have unseated: 1) the power connector to the motherboard, or 2) the plug for the switch that leads to the motherboard, 3) sometimes there is a switch on the back of the powersupply, check to see if it's off.
Thanks, but I tried all that already. I may just have to reseat the cpu, but that would be a pain because I have an Alpha Pal on it. I am going to wait to see if anyone else has an idea.

Is the RAM seated correctly?
Thanks for posting everyone!!! I fixed it. Just unplugged everything and plugged it back in. Simple, but it worked.

The power cord might have been fried. I've had that at work on one computer. I just switched the power cord and everything was dandy.

If you pull the power cord off the power supply often it can get loose. I had to bend the prongs on my power supply to get a good connection after the cord slots loosened
