View Full Version : My finished Hard Drive waterblock pics
Here are some pics of my hard drive waterblock. The copper flat cost me one dollar, and the copper tubing cost me 39 cents. Less than two dollars. Yay :)
Stove-top soldering. I don't like doing this. I have a blowtorch. Why didn't I just use my blowtorch the whole time?

I still have to polish up the copper, and drill holes to the size of the hard drive's bottom side, but what you see is pretty much the finished product. There's a lot of solder in that top corner because I had a leak there =P. Doesn't really bother me though, because this is all going to be wrapped in sound dampening material anyway.

perdy nifty:p im hopin to make me a hdd block sometime, but im thinking either make it supa dupa, or make it a copper heatspreader with copper tubing on it....
I was just thinking this same thing. I have a roll of copper flashing (for roofing) that's 20" x 120"...I could make a bazillion of them :D
It's probably not the purest copper, but what the heck.
