I'm using P4-1.6A,Abit IT7 Max with two Samsung PC2700 256Mb DDR-SDRAM(single side sticks)
my CPU can o/c to 166 FSB. but i won't to see high temps.
so i want to make it run as 2.4Ghz(150FSB):400Mhz Mem (3:4)
but my memories won't o/c at least just 1 Mhz.
i can o/c the system with 1:1 setting to 166 FSB which is DDR333
but when i o/c the memory, it won't boot. i get always blue screen

I've tried the DRam voltage from 2.5V to 3.2V
and still can't o/c the memory
what's wrong?

Intel Pentium-4 1.6A + Stock HSF
Abit IT7 Max (Tried on both bios)
Samsung PC2700 256MB * 2

PS.what's CTL & DTL? how can i know what mine is?

Samsung from what I've read doesn't like high voltages and it needs to be worked up to get over 200Mhz on the memory bus, search on here for burn in procedures for it.

Samsung PC2700 memory uses 6ns DRAM chips, which are theoretically limited to 166MHz (333DDR). In practice, one can often go higher than the theoretical limit, but this is not always the case; for future reference, Kingmax uses 5ns DRAM chips on their PC2700 memory, which can theoretically reach 200MHz.

3.2v

Don't kill your ram. Try lowering your fsb and set the 3:4 ratio. It could also be because of Win98.. After I upgraded to WinXP Pro I could o/c so much more.

Thanks for replies guys.
i found an weird thing on these rams.
as you know, This is CL 2.5
but my mems always run as only CL 2.0
when i apply CL 2.5 on the bios to get more high fsb
it won't boot, wth? isn't CL 2.5 Ram?

:i'm on it pray for me

to DumpALump
:max voltage for this ram is 3.6V, which is from the their datasheet

to JAWS
:eek:h well, mine is right that and it won't o/c lol

I still don't think I'd put my ram past 2.9v....

Its sort of like, Max temp for an intel cpu is 135C, so running at 75C is ok?
