Sorry for the long post but please read....

Basically i want to make a cube case out of wood, running an XP2200+ and a gf4 ti4200. I'm getting a 1u powersupply and an nForce microATX mobo by abit. my question is that i dont need icey temperatures but something no higher than 45c under load. the design will have a 120mm fan (or 92) on the front sucking in and on the back blowing out, given that the case will only be about 10x10x10, this will provide more than enough airflow. My question is, given this airflow, could i use a good 1u cpu cooler with a 80mm fan adapter and still get cool temps? i'm trying to keep it as low-profile as possible since i dont have much room.

thanks,
brent

If its 10x10x10 you should be able to fit something with some good size to it. For a big fast CPU like that I would not want to use a 1U cooler. Look at the AX7. Otherwise just use the retail cooler, its pretty slim, plus its free.

I have a few CAD designs for cube cases that you could reference.
You can fit a micro ATX motherboard, 2 5.25" drives, one Hard drive, and a 350W 1U Power supply in a 10" space without losing any of the expansion slots or cooling efficiency.

The HSF would have a ducted fan to draw in outside air, the exhaust would be handled by the PSU. An optional second intake would be used to cool the video card.
