Sunon magnet driven fans (http://www.sunon.com.tw/product/ms/ms8025.htm)

I don't know if anyone has checked these out yet, but they sound cool (pun intended). A bit worried about the whole magnets thing, especially in front of a hdd, or something on that order, but it's a novel idea. Any ideas? They are pretty expensive (saw them on Cyberguys! for about $10 per fan). Maybe someone here has them running it their system?

all electric engines are magnet driven. That's not the "magnetic levitation" special thing here.

Magnetic levitation refers to the rotor part of the engine floating in air instead of using berrings or brushes and such to stay centered and in the motor. This should make the fans much quieter and last longer. (theoretically)

Edited to take out the berring statement because I misread the key V != berring.

I have used these before and they are great fans. Not as prone to failure due to dust and their noise level is very low.

That's what I meant, I guess I should have phrased my post better.

Yeah, they seemed to have pretty good CFM ratings for low noise (at least from that chart Sunon has). Do you have any problems with having them near any computer equipment?

They are made for computer equipment. I have had them cooling cpu's, cases and HDD with no problems.

Hey Guido, do you get those online? Got some links I can check out for prices?
