Hi,

I recenlty aquired a Powerbook 180c. I have been told that its CPU can be overclocked and is common to be found running at anywhere between 37-40mhz.

The stats of the laptop are:

-33mhz
-12mb RAM
-80mb Hardrive
-MacOS 7.6.1

How is it possible to overclock this machine?

woow, how in the world are you running mac os 8.1 on 12 megs of ram? on my 5500 mac os 8.1 takes up 15 megs of ram? :) I honestly dont know how you overclock a macintosh...i've heard there are jumpers on imacs but not a clue with macintosh.

the older macs used a fixed clock chip to set the speed of the cpu so in order to up the speed you will need to buy a new clockchip and solder it in place of the old one.

look here http://homepage.mac.com/schrier/mhz.html

that guy dosen't mention your 180 but you will get the idea of what you need to do from the other systems.

Does anyone own a Apple# M5545LL/C battery.

This is a Powerbook 180c NiCad battery. I am looking for someone who could give me (for free, Ill pay for shipping) a fully working battery.

I live in Australia.

I might be able to get one from the school I volunteer at, they have loads of leftover random peices from dead macs i gut. I'll take a look when i go over there next.

That would be great.

Even if it only holds enough charge for 30minutes it would be great.
