K7D Master w/ 2 x XP1600+ @ 1.67ghz.

I tested in prime95 all night the system is stable so I just install two diferent F@H console's in two different directories and started this puppy folding. Anyone with a dual can I expect each cpu to perform like a single cpu would perform running the client? So I should effectivly have two XP's@1.67ghz folding now right? I want these cpu's to fold at the right speed , nice and fast :).

great to hear it!!! and you are correct sir, it should split the two between both cpus- so 100% for each and twice the power:) man, you are making my jealous, i have to get my dual up and going sometime:D

so Jbslow, did you do the L5 mod so that the xp1600 can run in DUAL? and can you go higher than 1.66Ghz on that board?
man...NASsccer is right.....you are making us jealous....may be i should think about a dually;)

Yes I did the L5 mod.

I tried 140x12.5 but it made a strange noise so I'll just stick with a multiplier overclock for now. I may sqeeze a few more mhz out of this system yet.

nice system :) one question how did you adjust the multiplier to 12.5 did you do the bridge connection or you set it in the bios. I also heard there is a FSB software where you can increase FSB. I have 2466N Tyan board. I can put the XP1900 in without connect the L5 bridge and it work, but I can not OC multiplier or FSB. The only way is use soft FSB but it only run on windows. Mine is Linux :(

The MSI K7D master has multi adjustments in the bios.

Ok I had to increase the core voltage but it seems to be stable at 12.5x138 = 2 x 1.73ghz. Its only passed prime95 for an hour or so so far but I think it will be ok I'll let it run a few more hours to be sure I really want to get it back folding :)

Nice rig Jbslow, my understanding is that msi board is the best O/cing board for the duals. ( as I drool all over my keyboard)
I'm jealous too!;)

Have you made sure that the machine ID (not user ID) for each client is different? Version 3 doesnt use the -local tag.

How do I check the machine ID? I did check the user id they're diferent but it seems my production is less then it should be maybe there is something wrong.

EDIT

Ok I did the config again this time I chose the advances setup features and changes the machine ID for each cpu. It should work better now.

That is pretty good. I read some review and they did not mention this feature at all. I've had horrible experience with MSI in the past. I bought 10 MSI mobo and 5 of them went out in the first 6 months. the rest go out after more than a year. MSI also refuse my RMA for the first 6 mobo. Since then, I stop buying MSI product. For my own experience, the best reliable board in order of my own preference would be IWill, Epox, Tyan, Asus, Abit. I have had bad experience with MSI, Shuttle, Soyo, Aopen.

I guess I'll wait for the Iwill dual board.
