First, and most inportant, I have 2 memory slots© One has 64mb in it while the other has 32mb© I know since, the 64mb one is stock that is has 100mhz fsb, but
I am not sure about the 32, and before i switch the jumper to 100mhz fsb, I need to know if that memory chip is going to be compatible© Moving on © © ©
Recently I was on HP's website to find out how what amount pins I need for new memory chips© I found that out, which is 168, however they also said the maximum amount of memory in each slot may only by 128mb???? Is this true, I was thinking about throwing in 2-1024mb chips, and that kind of ruins my whole plan!!! Please help©

good luck on o/cing or even safely upgrading your hp. I am looking at one that I tried to do that with.(it makes for an ugly paper weight)hp bords are usualy of the lowest quality that they can make (they like to make them dificult to work with) My suggetion would be to go with just one of the gig sticks and spend the reat on a new mobo and even a cpu. It will save you massive headaches later. It wopuld have saved me some.

If you have money for two 1GB memory sticks, you definately want to spend it on new parts.

I don't think there is an HP desktop made that will accept a 1GB memory stick, let alone two.

Yes, it is true, just look in your manual. Before I built my own pcs, I had an HP with 64MB of PC66 memory. I upgraded to 2x128mb PC100 sticks. If your machine only has 96MB of memory I would seriously upgrade to a whole new computer. I bet you don't even need all that memory. If you lose one of the 1GB sticks, you have money for a new fast machine(If you build your own). Isn't a 1GB stick $1,000?

if you are going from 96m of ram then 512m will just blow your mind! then you can spend the close to 2 grand you were going to spend on those 1Gb sticks and get a realy nice(ie fast) pc. it will make you a very happy person:D

Thank you for your help, but upgrading right now is not within my budget© As far as a 1gb memory stick being $1,000, i saw about 2 of those zeros be lost when I looked on ebay for them© I must agree © © © HP's are worthless, so therefore I have decided on this list to upgrade my crap of a computer © © © any comments/suggestions are welcome:

1Gb of memory is not $10. And what is with all these symbols? ©, ¤, ¥. Go with AMD if you are on a budget.

Show me where a 1GB stick of memory is $10.

And none of your links work.
