I just got a new stick of Corsair XMS3200 512MB. On the side of the heatspreader the sticker says it's v2.1.

My older Corsair DIMM's sticker had v1.1 on the side...

I'm a little concerned because with the v2.1 my system will not post, but with the 1.1 it will post at 130Mhz FSB 3:4 ratio timings 2-2-2-4-1 on my Asus P4S533 and P4 2.0a with 2.9Vdimm.

So... I've been reading about "ctl" vs. "dtl" ram sticks from Sammy and other places and how the older ctl models are being held to be sold as 3200's... but this IS a 3200 module but listed by Corsair as v2.1.

Anyone else have v2.1 DIMM's from Corsair? How are they performing?

I have a PC3000 ver 2.1 512MB stick and it's performing quite well for now. I'm 100% rock solid at cas2 2-5-2 4way 1T at 182Mhz default voltage, and I'm going to test further

That's what I wanna know.

rev 2.1 should be better. It's based on Winbond chips, rather than Samsung, and will eventually be the basis of Corsair's 200Mhz cas 2 offering.

See this thread in the official Corsair support forums:

Explanation of XMS revisions

Wow so where did you guys get the 2.1 version stick at? Newegg?? God i'd hate for that to be another Samsung thing, meaning they would say its the 2.1 version and get the old stuff.

I have a stick of 512MB Corsair XMS3200 v2.1, and it does precisely what Corsair guarantees, [email protected]. I'm going to increase VDIMM from the default 2.5 to 2.7, burn it in for a couple of hours, and see if I can make it go higher or improve the CAS settings on it sometime.

Hey Mr. Cornell.. Where did ya get that ram? Newegg? If so can you point out which one excactly... cuase theres a few different 3200's on there site.

I'm going to be ordering some ram again from newegg since they have recieved my RMA and cant decide between Cosair 3200 V 1.2 or Mushkin PC3000...

The one I got was the Corsair 512MB XMS3200. The model # on NewEgg is CMX512-3200. That is also the proper model # since it's the same on Corsair's website.

My brother has some XMS PC3000 Corsair, he can hit 200Mhz FSB on his IT7-MAX with CAS2 timings. He has Rev 2.1 'Black' sinks.

I bought some Platinum PC3200 'Silver Sinks' about a week ago and this is what I got it to last night. Passed 3DMark/PCMark/Sandra no problem. (Prime 95 next)

Using 2.9v and it's still cold to the touch. Wouldn't go at stock voltage.

I cant say much for non Platinum 3200.. But this Platinum stuff seems to be pretty pis*ed. :)
