no sidewinder for xp??

can sidewinder controllers work with XP???is there a driver or something?has anyone had my problem?
i have the sidewinder freestyle pro...someone must help!!!

I have a sidewinder gamepad and it works fine in xp. Microsoft put in a driver that says sidewinder series. Try changing it to that and see if it works. It should since its a Microsoft product. (but you never know with Microsoft.)

where did u get that?XP wont let me install the driver cd that came with the gamepad...
ive searched for an XP driver a lot of time and found nothing...could please tell me where u got that?

Go to change a setting, then game controllers, then click add a controller. In the list it should say Microsoft sidewinder (auto detect). It should work.

i have the force feedback wheel and when i do what bull says it detects some 3D PRO not the force feedback wheel.. also the drivers i downloaded from their site they dont work.. gives me some error

I've got xp, and I just bought a SideWinder Precision 2 joystick, and it works great.

the standard drivers work fine for the pad, but im guessing its the other software on the cd that you want - the control center thingy or whatever its called - i cant remember, i last looked at my cd when i was using 98. looooooong time ago! lol

the sidewinder controllers the use the game port are not supported in XP, only the USB series. i'm not sure which one you have.

anyway, i have a sidewinder steering wheel and a gamepad and both work fine.

all the Sidewinders are supported by XP i have the original Sidewinder FF 1 and all you have to do is plug in and power up your device then goto Start, Control panel,Printers and other hardware,Game Controlers,Add, Mircosoft Sidewinder (Auto detect) and it will tell you what you have plugged in. They had to redo all the original Sidewinder 1 products drivers to work with XP although the control centre does not work and games that support this feature will run it at the games default Force feed back
