I have an ABIT Siluro GF2 T400 64M and I just flashed it with NVFlash and the newest BIOS (3.11.01.48.4) from ABIT. It says it's successful and I'm able to use my PC right now, but I got this error message:
Flash Update Successful
Comparing Entire ROM
ROM Size = 52224
Error = EEPROM miscompared with file
Error = Miscompared at offset 52224
I tried searching this board and no one has asked this before. Am I the only one to have this error? Any advice? Thanks!

Just flash it back to the original saved bios (Hopefully you saved it)
And try it again......;)

Yes, I have the original BIOS saved. But the funny thing is, I don't have any problems with it right now. When I booted up, it does show the new BIOS version under my video card name, and I just tried playing several 3D games (NHL 2K2, GTA3, MOHAA, and Max Payne) and also ran 3DMark2001 several times. No problems at all. I have only 1 PC, so I'm using it right now to type this message. ;)
If I can, I don't want to flash and reflash. I get all stressed out when I flash because I'm afraid to mess up my card.
it seems to me - but im not sure, that the problem is only about the different bioses sizes, which is explained in the Digit-Life guide on flashing a video card bios:
"Usually after a user has saved a BIOS image he compares it with a new version and becomes afraid of the large difference in their sizes. The matter is that one of the BIOSes is completed with zeroes up to the size divisible by a computer word, the other shows a real size of the BIOS. Do not worry."

I think otto is right, it's just thinks that the updated BIOS file was the rong size, which it oviously wasn't if it still works.

Thanks for the replies. I read that article and it looks like everything is OK. I've also emailed ABIT and hopefully they'll give me an official OK on it.

OK, I got a reply from ABIT. It looks like everything is OK.
"Dear Customer,
It is normal to see the EEPROM miscompared errors, please no need worry about it.
Thank you.
Regards
ABIT FAE"
well they could have elaborated that better. of course its not normal to get ANY miscompared error of the EEPROM, but at least you not need to worry about THAT one. :)
