what exactly is detenator? is it any GeForce or what? is it specific? Just wondering cuz i have GeForce2 MX and all this detenator stuff is confusing me. thx to all that respond

They are the 'codename' for the Nvidia drivers used for any geforce cards, including yours. I currently use the 12.00 version drivers with the specs below. You can get a list by typing detonator drivers nvidia on yahoo; there are plenty of sites out there with drivers and utilities for tweaking your card.

I have been using the OPEN GL drivers instead, will the detonator drivers give me better quality and performance?

I think, a new pratice for me, that the detonators come with a Nvidia approved open GL driver... I'm almost certain of that, but what you use and have success with will be entirely difference on an older card.

the 12.60's gave me almost a 100 points more then the 12.40's I tried to download the new 12.90's but each time ive tried it said i have a bad file when i tried to unzip. I too have the GF-2mx the detinator drivers are recommended by just about everyone and some will have luck with different versions i cant wait to try the 12.90's when i get a link that works rite.
