need help on a reformat

the cp is asking for a volume label but it doesnt have one printed at the top like it is supposed to. what do i do the comp has a nasty virus and it needs its but wiped . thanks in advance .

I dont know if this will work but i just typed something like Newblood and it seemed to work fine

thanks alot i figured it out . i dont know why it wouldnt let me do anything untill i put in the label . im not sure how i did it really lol but its taking a fresh install right now of win 98. ill keep my fingers crossed.

The label is pretty much what you want to call the hard drive (I prefer Fuknut myself). It has nothing to do with a physical label stuck onto the drive.

I would look on google for lavasoft. They have a nice program called Ad-aware that looks for and deletes virus-like but legal programs piggy-backed onto downloads. If you havent run it you probably have at least one.
