I am wondering what memory will be needed to run in a dual DDR modo. Is the "Dual" part controlled by the mobo, in which case you can use current DDR ram in it, or will it be the ram itself which controls the dual part. I am quite unknowledgable about this.

this is one of the reasons I am holding off buying a ner system.

You will be able to use current DDR in Dual DDR boards and benefit accordingly. Keep in mind, though, that to operate in dual mode, you must use matched pairs of DDR sticks (e.g. a single 512 Mb stick won't do the trick.) This is according to a pre-release write-up of a new Dual DDR board over at hardocp.

Now, having to use two sticks of DDR, I'm assuming they have to be matched (ie. two 512MB sticks). But will that give my 1GB total, or will it only be 512MG if I'm using two 512MG sticks?
