How high have you overclocked your Ti4200...and what from?

mine is currently running:
Core: 225
memory: 446

now I have been a bit aprehensive about doing this as im not sure how effective the cooling on my card actually is. Im using an Inno3D one btw...

For the 128MB 4200, default speeds are 250/444 i think. For the 64MB default speeds are 250/500.

I have a 64MB and rightnow it is at 285/570 stock cooling.

What is your 3DMark2001SE score?

You should run a search on this because there was a huge thread about Ti4200 overclocking and people had posted their results. What brand of Ti4200 are you guys using?

I played with benchmarking the card because I wanted to break 10000 in 3dmark and I got it to run stably at 290/610 for 5 loops. Anything more on the core seems to be unstable i have some fans and ram heatsinks coming this week and am hoping to increase those numbers. My best score 9655. I'm thinking its because I'm running win98. I'm going to mod my case for increased airflow and install XP and see if I cant increase the benchmark over 10000.

My Abit Suliro Ti4200 64ddr is benching at 10380 now.
Im using Riva Tuner and mt core is at 261
My memory clock is at 527
I know I can push it more, but I really
dont want to chance it now, the card is only two
days old. I would hate to fry it so soon.

well I have mine now:

Inno3d 128MB
core: 250 @ 280
memory: 450 @ 510

although there is no sign of crashing, or gfx problems...im still getting more and more aprehensive of putting it higher...I mean my old mx went up by about 5MHz and crashed every five seconds...

but this seems solid - anyone able to compile a list of all the brands and default clock speeds?

my 3D mark score btw is 6383, now I know I can do better than this, even with my slightly out of date system (a 933 which is bottlenecking)

Gainward 64MB, 295/575 with no artifacts, gonna try pushing the core higher. Card is a bargain for the performance you get...

My visiontek 4200 ti 128 stock is 250/450 I got it running stable at 280/550. I haven't even tried to push harder. I would be willing to bet with my cooling I can get 300/600 no prob.

I just installed a 64MB Gainward Ti4200 this afternoon. It's stable at 285/570. I started seeing a bit of artifacts at 290/580. 3dMark2001SE on first (only) run was 11789 at 285/570 (2.2a Northwood at 2.72Ghz, TH7II-R, 512MB Samsung 40ns PC800).

I've been running my Prolink PixelView GF4 Ti4200 for about 2 months @ 315/610 with no problems. Best 3DMark2001 scores were 8,932 with the PIII 1.2 @ 1.3 GHz, 8986 with the Cel-T 1.1A @ 1.52 GHz, and 11,986 with the P4 2.0A @ 2.6 GHz. The card is completely stock.

Just got my MSI GF4 Ti 4200 today. It's overclocked to 320/620 stable. It's running stable now but is this going to be a problem because it only has a core hs and no ram sink? I image the memory would get pretty hot.

Well, as posted in another thread, got my MSI 4200 yesterday and it's stable at 315/614 with no artifacts whatsoever. Still can try higher core frequencies, and going to add ramsinks and ASII in the stock HSF to see if can push it a bit more.

It's just your Tbird holding you back. Not really the Win98. I don't think you will be able to break 10000 points even with a Geforce4 Ti4600.

My specs show my card... IT SUX, Thank God I'm trading it for a Daytona g4 ti4200 on monday... It should run at 310/530 (mem would prop go even higher) without eny prob.

In the review the guy gets a 10198 score at stock speeds and a 11612 score at 310/530 in 3dmark 2001 se ;)

#18 you really think its my tbird? Does anybody else agree?

I thought it was because I had so many games and apps on my primary drive. I was going to install XP, drivers and 3dmark and try again but its such a pain getting everything the way I like it that I have been holding off. I guess I hadn't thought that the sse optimizations would make such a major difference. I'm seeing XP 1800 for cheap right now but I was going to wait for the 2100 to fall before buying.

yes

For high end video cards, the CPU makes bigger difference.

And also, here is one fact--------------

The highest score on Madonion.com with a Tbird 1.4GHZ + Geforce4 Ti4200 is 9160 points.

Yours is higher because your process is overclocked.

I've also seen the higest score of a Tbird 1.4GHZ with even a Ti4600 is only 10200 points. Even my Radeon 8500 can do better than that becuase it's working with a high end processor.

So if you want to break 10000 points, you'd better get one high end Athlon XP or a northwood P4. Otherwise, not even a Ti4600 can do it.

And also, usually the hard drive doesn't have much an effect on the 3dmark scores as long as it's not too full(better have at least 1.5GB free space). If you think your hard disk is too slow, then do a defragment, it will help a little.

I've been running my Prolink PixelView GF4 Ti4200 for about 2 months @ 315/610 with no problems. Best 3DMark2001 scores for each system are:

PIII 1.2 @ 1.3 GHz - 8,932
Cel-T 1.1A @ 1.52 GHz - 8986
XP 2200+ @ 2.0 GHz - 11,128
P4 2.0A @ 2.6 GHz - 11,986

MSI ti4200 64 meg very stable @ 290/590. Will do 300/600 in games but not 3d mark 2001. Huge value for 160$ US at my door!Increased my 3d mark score 2000 points over my old gf3 ti 200 which also clocked very well.

So you are saying I should be happy with my score of 9655? I guess I'll rerun it and publish then. I thought it sucked so I never even thought to look around to see what others were doing. I kept hearing 10,000 so........ I'm only 345 points away. Who knows, aggresive timing, a few tweaks, it could happen.

Thanks, now I'll work a little harder at it.

I find it curious that there is not one mention of PNY's Ti 4200 in this thread so far. I'm talking about PNY's Verto GeForce 4 Ti 4200 with 64mb ram running at a default of 250/500. Is it a bad card and everyone's boycotting it? I hope not because I just bought the thing.

Dunno what 4200 it is its straight outta my dad's Dell. He now has a GF2mx (he'll never miss it).

Oh yea for cooling I have 2 Delta fans screaming at my card with passive heatsinks arctic silvered to memory.

Been running great last 2 weeks. No problems at all. Ran 3D mark 2001 several times through and still no problems.

Im gonna clock it back down and get rid of these damn Delta Fans - too friggin loud.

I gots to resurrect this topic.
I been wondering the samething reading through this topic and on other sites!
Mines i believe is @default, 250/513 i believe that is correct. ::Thinks:: ( it shows up when i do "restore defaults" as this ).

But these cards are good, i deff like em. and that's a pretty decent start for core and mem speed. i cant believe those daytonas are so low on mem clock to start

But, i just been browsing this topic, trying to see where's a good start for me to OC it @ for stock. THink ima go up to bout 275/550

where you PNY Graphic card owners @!

I have a PNY Ti4200, and it's not very overclockable at all.

Do yourself a favor and get a new hsf for the gpu, as the one that comes on it BLOWS. The bottom is so poorly finished that you could file your nails on it. At least, mine is.

This week or early next week, I should be receiving JustShoot's A7N8X deluxe, when I do, I'm gonna tear the 4200 apart and replace the cooler with something better, or at least lap the one on there.

Yeah got lucky I suppose, it has samsung 4ns ram on it, why it is able to oc as far as it does is beyond me, it doesnt even have ramsinks on it, but they get darn hot if I dont have my side fan on.
I was impressed with the core oc as well.

My PNY 64 MB 8x card tops out at 288 / 314. I usually run it at 275/300. At this speed I get just a hair over 13000 3dmarks using my XP @ 2083 MHz / 166 FSB.
