Networking software choices...

I have 4 pc's connected via a lynksys router to my conn.
I want to be able to monitor usage and communicate via P.M.'s, any software suggestions would be appreciated...

no...i'm looking for a prog that sends the other users on my network a popup message screen, not icq, I want it to be entirely internal.
I have found some choices but they all have so much extra stuff that I dont need...so keep the suggestions comming for a chat prog that works on networks.;)
