I lost one of my machines last night that Iuse to fold, I hope to have it back up later today or tomorrow when I have some time to mess with it. I was downloading the latest security patch for w2k and all the sudden I got a screen I have never seen before while in winbloze. The screen came up and said unable to continue gave an address and said the disk became corupted during the update. I tried to reboot and was unable to make it past the first winbloze screen. I'm gonna see if I can save the installation, I hope I don't have to install fresh. I'm down to 4.8g from 6.6g of folding power because of this!

Well I got the rig back up and folding although I had to zero the drive and start fresh. For some reason I had a feeling that I was going to have to start all over again.
The screen that I got was similar to a bsod but not quite the same. I have never seen anything with all the error codes that I had on this one. The disk was really trashed I tried to repair from the console I ran chkdisk and tried my emergency repair disk but it didn't work. When I tried to run the repair disk it became corrupted too; I think that I may have had a boot sector virus that McAffee didn't catch. Part of my reasoning for this is that I could not install w2k on a fresh format until I zeroed the drive once I did that it installed without a hitch.
The good news is that it's back up and folding again and definitely running faster! Clue number two that there was somethin' playing dirty pool on my machine.
