This is a first. Is this a new rev or something? And what about the vendor, yay or nay?

I got my board from them. Great place to get it from. Mine came in the box that came with the LAN card, but i didnt order one so they just took it out and left me the manual for the lan card... dont know why they did that, maybe for some light reading?

So it's not intergrated lan, it's a pci card? The pic shows that it has onboard usb. I figured lan wsa integrated as well.

Edit: If that's the case, it is cheaper to buy the one w/o lan and buy your own lan card if you don't have one lying around somewhere, like I do:D

By my understanding that is onboard lan. Many of the AMD Duals has that.
I will agree, seems kinda odd the way they wrote that up on there, does look a lil like its a PCI. But Im pretty sure its onboard.

i didnt kow they made an onbaord LAN version of the ASUS  I am pretty sure it is a PCI lan card because they sell a comob like that. i know becasue thats what the box mine came in said on it, they just took it out. To my knowledge, ASUS has yet to come out with a on-board LAN.

Ok, I stand corrected. I just checked the ASUS boards manual and it doesnt have onboard.
So, heh... Unless that is a new revision, which Im doubting, then it looks like that is a card that comes with it.

yea, but they still have a good price on just the MB.

So what's up with the link I posted. Onboard or not. I know not to go by what the pic shows, But I might consider purchasing it if it is onboard. May have to make a phone call to clear this up. It would be shmoove to have the Asus w/lan

Edit: Site shows that it is a controller. Isn't that hinting toward onboard lan.

Hot off the presses, straight from a reps mouth, the lan is intergrated. :D :D :D Now I have to scrounge up some $$ and try to sneak it by my wife:(

i wouldnt trust that, considering they sell a combo with a PCI-L3C920 lan card. buyer beware.

LoL... I asked to have my post count reduced to 50. Several reasons, but the second to largest, was so I would be taking a forced vacation of the OC classy's.... I simply cant afford anything for a lil bit... so, cutting that out.. makes it slightly easier... :D

Neither did I, that's why I called to verify. But the rep said it was onboard. I'm gonna check the Asus webpage though.

Edit: No such creature on the Asus page. Hmmmmmmmmmm, something is fishy here.

either the rep lied, or he has no clue what onboard means and figured that they give you a lan card... its on a board...

The lan comes as a pci card. It is NOT integrated. The pcb simply does not have the room for it. It is a new revision though with a new chip stepping that enables the integrated usb 1.1

LAN is not integrated!!

LIAR, damn him. he got my hopes up for nothing. Funny thing is that I asked him if it was onboard or a pci and he said pci. What kind of service dept do they have if their techs don't know anything?  I'm done, madness burned off.

Hey portorock, I've got this board.

It's a pci asus/3com card not onboard, nice card though.

This board does come with two usb 1 slots Onboard,
plus the usb 2 card. So if you need an extra pci slot and don't mind using usb 1 this could help in that area.

I've ordered from monarch a few times before, one or days to process the order but never any problems, I would order from them again.
