I did it last night, the card arrived with terrible 2d. IT was barely tolerable @1024x768 and higher than that was too blurry to read. I did the mod with incredible results. I think it is radeon quality 2d now. I had a radeon a while ago and liked it a lot but wanted some faster gaming. I think this is the best compromise.
Now, it is great, i can read text clearly @1600x1200 but my monitor only does it at 60hz so i can't use it . Good luck.
