I just changed my case from my Lian-Li case to my old OEM case, and removed my CD-RW drive from the computer, because I am using the case and the drive in another computer i'm building. Now, my problem is that the mobo hasn't detected any devices on the secondary IDE chain, the devices being a zip drive and a CD drive. They are plugged into the power (they open etc), but Win2K nor the BIOS is detecting them. Any ideas?
You check your jumpers? One of them has to be master, other must be slave, on the secondary channel.

the jumpers are both on cable select
Is the data cable in backwards in any of the drives? Is the secondary IDE channel enabled in the BIOS, as well as the auto-detect feature?

yeh, the autodetect is enabled, and the cables only go in one way. Could the whole cable be the wrong way round? On the cables, its got IDE2 written at the end i plugged it into the motherboard, CD2 where it is plugged into the zip drive, and then CD1 where i plugged it into the CD drive.

fixed it now, thanks for your help :)
after fiddling around with the cables, it suddenly worked. It looks like it was just that the secondary IDE cable was not completely in the motherboard.:burn:
