I am curious I know some people that are stuck on aohell for various reasons and I was wandering if ne one knows how to make it dial like ne normal isp???? just screwing around tweaking their pc.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want AOL to be like a normal ISP meaning you want to use the www vs. the AOL subnet?

Start by changing you default home page to something other than the AOL start page. I would also recommend getting Ad-aware to clear out some of the spyware that they install.

I dont have AOHell! I have a diff. dial suck isp :temper: getting rid of aol is not an option something about over the road truck driver connection blah blah blah i just figured i could try to help them out buy having it dial by going you know dial-up networking---make new connection... but forget it...it aint worth the trouble to me...

this guy in a band i like, got a tatoo of the AOlL symbol and some computer parts cause he loves AOL.

yea u might be able to get around using the aol way of connecting. Here is how u do it with juno (it might work the same with aol)

1. turn on dial up logging.
2. After you do that, connect to the net and then look at the log and some where you might see like "...@aol" and that would be ur user name.
3. Your password should be in some encrypted form right after your user name, not sure exactly.


This may or may not work, im not responsible if you get into trouble by aol and also, this is only the raw way to do it. You will need do like a trial and error thing until u get the right password.

Also, this will work only in win98 and these are only some quick directions so if you want step by step then post back.
