I'm planning on making a custom waterblock for my Palominio 1600+, and I'm buying the copper from https://www.onlinemetals.com. Here's my questions:

1. To anyone with experience with this store, the sizes are listed as 1/8 x 1, 1/8 x 2, 1/2 x 1, 1/2 x 2, etc. When you open the product information site, you can specify the length. I'm assuming that the number represent [Thickness (guage)] x [width]. What further leads me to believe this is that on the product list, the first number increases slower than the second number when going down the list. Am I correct about this, and if I buy 1x2 with a custom length of 2, I will get a piece of copper 2 inches long and wide, and 1 inch thick?

2. Those who have made waterblocks before, is 2x2 long/wide enough for a waterblock, and 1 inch deep enough? I have a friend with metal working equpment of every kind. I plan to cut off a "lid" 1/4 inch thick, and use the other 3/4 inche to mill out the water path (using the spiral setup). I will probably end up using plexiglass above/below the MB to fasten it down since 2x2 is not big enough to reach the holes around the outside.

Thanks for your help on my first shot at watercooling

Thanks for the advice. That WB on the other post has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seem (and Kudos on the rendering! Looks VERY professional). I don't think, however, I'll be taking on anything that complicated on my first shot. Spiral will do just fine for me. Since you seem to know the dimensions, how wide appart are the four holes in the MB? Myabe ill spend the extra cash and make the metal a bit bigger so I can use the holes.

I just thought of another question:

For my radiator (which will probably be one of those 4x8 inch ones from the power steering from larger trucks and cars, though I'm not quite sure yet), will there be a noticable difference whether I have fans blowing into AND sucking out of the rad, or if I just do one? One of ther reasons for WC for me is the quietness. I would much rather use 2 fans over 4. If I decide to use fans only on one side of the rad, which side should I have them on? Sucking or blowing?

i'm not shurtre what the best conficuration of fans is, you may have to experiment alittle, having a gfan blowing and one sucking in theory doesnt increase flow rate, but owuld increase pressure. as for the hole spacing, heres the amd technical data sheet thingies, however, the hole spacing on my board was different:mad: , so i had to remake the clip and coldplate. for the kt266pro2, the hole spacing is about 2.6 inches wide by 1.43 inches vertiacly apart hole size is about .158 inches, designed for #6 screws
