Today I received some neon string and an inverter, they are not connected together.
:eh?:
There is no bare part on the string, but the inverter has two bare wires. How am I supposed to conect them together.
Thanks

Just a guess here, as seeing it would be easier. But I think you maybe put one end of the wire at one end of the string and the other wire at the other end of the string. :eh?:

Strip the end off the neon wire, there will be two really really small bare wires in there that surrond the white stuff... twist those together and solder them to one of those bare wires... then take a knife or something and scrape off that white stuff on the middle wire( the thing that acually glows) until you get to solid metal, then attatch the second lead from the inverter to it...
this is all done on one end of the wire not opposite sides

Thanks for the replies, I tried what you said and nothing is happening. There is a small round opqaue circle on top of the inverter, should this light up to tell me it is working? I don't have a mulitimeter to check whether volts are getting through to the string or not so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not.
Thanks.

That small circle you speak of is a optical eye... it senses whether or not there is enough light or not... If there is too much light the wire doesnt come on... and when it gets dark it does.... kinda like a automatic night light or security light.. just put a peice of tape over it... also you must make sure the two small wires inside the neon wire dont touch the bare metal wire that you striped earlier... it will just short out at the point and not work... it wont break it or anything just compleats the circuit before it goes down the line...hence no light

Still no luck, do you think I should RMA the inverter or is there another way I can test it to see if it is pushing out a voltage and the string is duff?
