put it in a bucket of water, on see where the water comes out, just dont poin any pipes up!!! or, most pumps are impeller drivve, this works just like a centrifucal fan, is throws the water out from the center of the impellet, so the outlet will be the hole perpendicular to the impller shaft, other wise i would think the outlet and inlet are maker in the pump

Rule of thumb with most of these pumps: they are used for ponds and mostly are made to be submersable. With that said take a look at the posted picture and picture that pump sitting on the bottom of the pond creating a fountain. You'll notice when you get it tommarow that it will have a cover over the front to keep gunk out when it's submerged in a pond so don't worry you'll know which is which hehe (1300 lable side: out, front: in)

The one on top (circled above) is the Outlet.

99% of the time (in my experiences) the pup sucks in in it's side, and pushes out the top.

yup yup

I had to use some goop to seal the impeller housing so make sure you leak test the pump first.

its about the only way to engineer an impeller pump.

Got it today! The setup is being leak tested!
