View Full Version : Please read Audio problems sort of?????????

OK playing a cd about ten mins in the cd plays on yet windows freezes no other apps are running, does anyone have any ideas on how i can trace this out ive tried moving the sounnd card around and fresh installs of windows etc, changed my ISA NIC to a PCI, flashed the bios and disabled SB emulation in device manager tried a few ajustments in bios there are no conflicts i can find none of this seems to make any difference im losing patience............................ please

2 things........does it freeze only while playing CD's, and if so is the CD getting really hot?

Shadow, it only freezes the system while playing cds not mp3 off hdd the sys freezes and the cds keeps playing until of course i reboot ............cd temp seem normal

long shot, but maybe look for a firmware update?

Are you running the new 4 in 1 drivers from Via. Another longshot, but that might help as well as disabling DMA on that drive.

where would i find the update? and yes iam running 4.32s w/ dma disabled in the bios.

Since I didn't notice the brand of your CD Rom, I can't make a suggestion other than checking the site of the mfg.
