Visiontek. 3.8ns memory, good stock cooling and its the lowest priced I belive.
necxdirect sells them for $359.95
They all use nvidias reference design so just go for price unless you need or want dvi support.

Heres a good place to read that compares 7 different gf3's.

Save your beans for now. The Geforce3 mx cards will be out in a few months. I'm sure the prices will drop like crazy. If you have the dough find a card with the fastest memory available. Other than that they are about the same.

Personally, newegg.com has the Visiontek for $345 right now, plus $7 shipping. They sell retail cards, so it's the full kit. I would prefer the Leadtek, but it's $40 more and doesn't include anything spectacular.

I have looked into this card, it's pretty nice for the price. Most of the cards benchmark the same as Nvidia was pretty strict this time, everyone had to follow the reference design.

Get the Visiontek from Best Buy. It's $359 so you have no shipping charges, can get it right away and if it doesn't work you don't have to ship it off. It's where mine came from and it kicks all forms of ass.

See if they have an open box available. They'll knock at least $20 off and usually is only returned because someone bought an OEM at the same time that didn't have an AGP slot (that was how I got my open box G3).

I dont really know where to buy one or what one to pick, Hercules always treated me well. Anyhoo I wouldn't wait for the MX's just because the biggest bottleneck is the mem so you would need the best form of that.

PS I think that Jon has the best pic.

Never Buy hardware in STOREs... alway buy online.. You will pay MORE for Taxes than for Overnight Shipping... For me Online is the way to go..... NY charges 8.28% tax. grrrrrrrrr

it all depends on what i'm building.......if I need fast service (like building a server that can't be down for more than a couple hours) I buy locally. I can RMA anything I buy within a year of the purchase and receive the new parts instantly. On line basically means I have to buy a new one and wait for the new spare part to return.

I guess for most that would hold true, but I live in CA and most of the online vendors that have good prices and reputations are from here meaning...I pay those taxes anyways.

I just always go there to get those quickies that I don't save anything on by ordering online like hard drives, CDROMs and SOME video/sound cards. Some of their stuff is terribly overpriced but I got a good deal at the time...

I agree with UnseenMenace. Elsa makes a great product, and their Gladiac 920 GeForce 3 card is no exception. It performs beautifully, and although all the cards perform very close to each other, Elsa makes really quality products and you can trust them. I got mine from MyInfinity.com for $160.00, and it came in two days, retail box and everything. w00t!

I think the Hercules Prophet III looks the prettiest though... ^_^

Incase you were not aware visiontek makes video cards for elsa. If you got a Gf3 for $160.00 your very lucky.

http://www.thedailydeals.com/ - this is the place to go, earlier (within the past two weeks) they have had two different geforce3 , including the elsa gladiac, for 299$.......................and don't look past the gainward which is exceptional in quality/price (surprising), had a good article @ anandtech.com....................
