Yea, .112 is taking a real beating right now (lots of short WUs), but is doing pretty well in an absolute sense. When we add a few more servers, this should be les of an issue. As it is, we added 1 more yesterday (proj 603, 604) and are starting to roll out Gromacs (which will add 1 more). We're running on fewer servers than normal since we hoped to be running Gromacs, but alas that was delayed.

this post has many, many good points...

1. the status of 112 seems to be looking up
2. more servers are in the works (less connection problems on the whole)
3. gromacs looks like it finally got the green light

looks like some good things are going to be happening soon or are happening right now. now if only we could get the team production to 25k a week :D

don't worry if you can't get connected to a server though... it is actually because the servers are overloaded rather than down. vijay said that even though they just added 2 more, they've got a few more on the way!!!!!

But in that list, there is no mention of server 171. This is the same server that I am trying to connect to to send 3 wu in queu. However, I have been able to d/l and u/p wu after the 3 in queu to the same server. How? Why?

your client is trying to connect to server 112. the server is designated by the last 3 digits. the more than likely isn't that is it down- it is that it is overloaded- meaning that too many send-gets/sec.

no worries:D i am just wondering when they are going to add the new servers to that page. Hopefully everyone's connection problems with settle down within the week- vijay said when that is when everything should go back to normal. So, i guess i will cross my fingers and hope it goes well over there!!!

It managed to connect to the assignment server on the 8th attempt, and after that it hasn't had any problems (not that I've seen) :)
