Well when looking at casemodding, alot of ppl use paint on all sorts of things so why not use it on your fans as well :D
Here a simple little guide for you showing you how to do it.

This is what you'll be needing for this mod:
FAN(s) (well duh :eh?: )
Duct tape
Paint
Small pair of tweezers

I did this with my own 80mm Papst Fans...

First think you need to do is remove the sticker on your fan. Underneath you'll find a little ring "locking" the fan. Use the tweezers to pull it out. Now you can take the fan out. Be carefull not to damage the ring or loose it, without it your fans gonna fall out... (NOTE: On some fans theres a kind of corck you'll need to remove first)

Sry aboyt the picture quality, but if you look closely you'll see the little ring thats ceaping the fan from falling out.

This is what your fan looks like when dismebled.

Now before painting the fan you'll need to cover the backside of the fan (the hole) with some duct tape. It's important that no paint reaces this area. Now your ready to paint the fan.

This is what the fan should look like after you've painted it:

Front

Now reasemble your fan and remount it in your case :p
Your finished re**** should look something like this:

won't the extra weight of the paint on the fans mess up the balance thus screwing the rotation or sumthin like that? heard
that somewhere :p

With a thin, evenly distributed coat of paint it shouldn't be a problem.

I was wondering how you get the fan blades off. Thanks a lot for the guide! :)

Good job!

You should re-write that and take some better pics (if you can) and submit it to Ed for use on the main page. He really needs articles like this right now.

By taking out the little ring that locks the fan (its hidden underneath the sticker )

Ed Stroligo, he's one of the two guys (him and Joe Citarella) who run the front page. He asked us to submit some articles a few days back.

I wish I knew how to take the fans off 2 months ago. It tokk me forever to paint a fan using one of those brushes girls use to paint their nails.

Well I painted my first fan. I broke the small plastic ring when I tried to get it off. :( After I was done I had to use a tiny metal washer and hot glue to fix it! hehe still works!

One thing to note, paint a black fan a light color, like white, BEFORE painting a dark color like blue. It is hard to even tell I painted it.

I have a pic in my camera, which I will probable post when I finish my entire case mod. :) I am hoping to be done by the end of next week. Need to paint everything, finish the windows, finish the neons wiring, maybe get another neon if one is not bright enough, put everything back together, and try to paint another fan!

No No I'm not addicted, this is helping me with my RPG gaming addiction! :D

For those blacklight freaks, you can get some UV sensitive paint that matches the stock fan color. When you power up your blacklights, your blades will then glow.
