I have my Gforce mx installed on an Epox 8k7a
When I tried to run it at AGP 4x it would crash in Games. It works great at 2x.

Agp is at 89mhz 1x
at 2x 178mhz
and at 4x it was at 356mhz

What is the limit of these cards?

Should be able to work at 4x AGP. Those cards do.

I wouldn't worry about it, 2x to 4x makes little to no difference.

Zuck Gou is correct. The Prophet 2 MX supports AGP 4x and Fast Writes but games really are not up to the required transfer rate that 4x delivers. You might want to check the BIOS version of your Mobo to see if it supports 4x AGP..but again...2x is just fine if you don't feel like messing around.
