My system:
Intel PIII 700@980
256MB RAM
Elsa Gladiac GeForce GTS --> 12.90 drivers
Asus CUSL2-C Mobo

3DMark 2001 = 3415

Are there any ways to improve on this score?

you can overclock your card using coolbits, which is available at tweakfiles.com

Not a bad score for your card/setup. I get 2450-ish with a standard MX400, so you're about right for a GTS. Overclocking the memory on the video card will drastically improve your performance.

Very good score. :)

i get 3657 with a generic regular old geforce2mx with 32megs of sdr 7.5ns ram "overclocked a bit" that seems a little low to me for your card
my score can be seen here (http://gamershq.madonion.com/products/orb/?3d2k1_details.shtml?&prid=1221774)

the quadro hack also gives option to oc,i have both progs.to compare look in bottom left corner, click on compare, then on first two lines giving stats for lke cpu,s card's mhz ect.seems like i got around 3550 with my 32 sdr card oc'ed at 210 200.

So you got like 3600 with an mx and a duron? Does it matter that you're running at 1103 and I am at 980mhz? Also, does the hard drive make a diff (you are 7200 and i am 5400rpm)? Can you think of any ways I can improve my score? The 3415 I got was with my card o/c to something like 230/390. LMK

That can't be at the default setting. Looks like maybe 600X800?

Here is a tweak guide for 3D Mark 2001;

It's not POSSIBLE to get that kind of scores in 3DMark2k1 with MX using default settings. No way. The resolution is 640x480, 16 bit colors, 16 bit textures, 16 bit z-buffer... I just ran it at those and I got 4194, with ALL quality-enhancements enabled with GTU & RivaTuner.
I get ~2750 with the default settings. My MX is clocked @ c205/m215.

Of course those are not default settings, I have been tweaking it a bit.

Could you point me to the MadOnion ORB results?

Here's something we all should be getting: http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?1223377

That link does not work without a current project running, was it a really high score?

9063 3DMark2k1s. :)

Here's the specs for it:
P4@2448(144MHz FSB), with dry ice cooling
Leadtek GeForce3 core 300, memory 645 (with a voltage mod)
256MB memory
Detonator 10.70
Windows 98
Default settings for 3DMark2k1

And it's by a Finnish person :)

Here's some pictures about it:

It's quite insane...

I noticed you had FSAA disabled. What were the scores with it enabled? I can't imagine playing games with geforce3 without it.

You're nuts BTW :)

sounds like an unusable system.

asmodean
07-16-01, 12:42 PM
Granted, not very usable... But shows that using dry ice doesn't mean "flash" overclocking...

Not my system. I wish I could afford such stuff.
I think he had FSAA disabled just to get the highest possible score using default settings. It's more comparable that way.

You're probably still nuts, but at least not that way! ;)

that's a high score regardless of FSAA, but was just wondering. I read the article posted in another thread, it's not very, uh ... what's the word I'm looking for... stable?

asmodean
07-17-01, 04:00 AM
Well, it's stable enough to get a nifty 3DMark. But not stable as in everyday use... Maybe it's even that, but it's not usable for your normal needs. He should do LN2 cooling and see how much he can improve...
