The donating part is probably true. But the 2 Ghz or timing of the donation sounds off.

He might have donated 2GHz WORTH of computers....
I was thinking the first 2 gig P-4 has available last summer. Of course that was a Willamette not the Northwood. Two years ago the fastest Intel available was the P-III 1 gig, although the Tualatins were about to be released.

The fastest P4 a year ago was around 1.7GHz. Northwoods were released in late 2001 - early 2002, at 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2GHz speeds. Tualatins were released shortly before the Northwoods. I was about to build my first computer this time last year and bought a regular Coppermine board (my SA6-R) because I didn't know what a Tualatin was or how it's support on a board would help me, lol. Anyway I know they weren't around 2 years ago.
