Hi All,
I'm building a system up which includes (up to this point) A Koolance watercooled case with 430w Enermax ps and the other goodies :), VisionTek Ti4600 (to be water cooled as well), 2 seagate SCSI 15k hard drives(cooled), adaptec 29160N controller.

Now I need to decide on which motherboard, CPU & Memory would be best suited for this package. I've considered the P4, 533Mhz FSB w/PC1066 ram, however due to it's inability at sucessful overclocking with the highspeed ram, I'm looking for alternatives. (Y else go water cooled :)

Would the AMD 2200+ or perhaps a P4 2.4g w/pc800 stand a better chance at overclocking?

I use the system primiarly for gaming, some PhotoShop & video editing too.

Any suggestions on a good stable MB , CPU & memory would be appreciated.

Theres alot of options out there for something like this.
Personally, just due to cost differences, I would go AMD.
Get something up there, like a 2100+ or so.
Granted if your that interested and already spending the cash on the scsi drives and controller, Id look into maybe some Dual boards. Which granted, doesnt really need water cooling, but it could be a hella nice setup.
Willing to look at duals? If so, take a look into the SMP section and look at some of the rather well defined links in there, alot to look at and check out.

If now.. I personally couldnt say otherwise.
heh, but with that scsi, I would have to go dual.

But, just my opinons. :D

Well I really had'nt considered a dual processor system but with super performance in mind it's not a bad idea. Being that I'll most likely use WIN2000 or XP I guess it comes down to just how much one want's to spend. I'll look into the SMP and check out some reviews on the MB's as well.
I appreciate your input.

Just keep in mind, most Duals wont be worth water cooling. I know mine isnt really. Just need to get some better hsf's for it.

Granted, it would be schweet to see one that needed it and took advantage of it.

Let us know how it foes and what you decide.

I'm thinking about going with the Tyan S2468UNG Dual AMD board, with a couple of MP1800+ CPU's.
Since I'm already going with the water-cooled system at least it'll keep the temps down and I won't have to listen to any of those pesky fans, LOL

Pbly get either 512 or 1024 of registered ddr memory and I'll be set.

Does anyone bother with overclocking a dual system? or is it a mute point.
