Corsair XMS 3200 and Abit BD7-II

I got my 512 meg stick of Corsair, popped out my trusty ol' Crucial, snapped the Corsair in and,,,,,,, NOTHING, no post, no beeps, no errors. Cleard CMOS, still nothing. Tried all 3 slots still nothing. Put Crucial back in, all is well. I know there is no problem with compatibility with the motherboard. Did I get a bad stick??? Have I missed something??
