View Full Version : Remove drivers settings for mobo when changing mobo's in win2k

I think it is a registry setting that you have to erase or chage if you want a mobo to boot. I usually don;t have this problem but I am runnig between a OEM Intel mobo and a ABIT ST6 and they seem to not transfer INF or chipset/mobo drivers well.

are you saying you are switching motherboards?

i always recommend a clean install when changing motherboards/hard drives/chips.

That is the exact one!

As for the clean install. Yeah that would be nice but this is the original MOBOthe OS was installed on. I put it on my OEM intel mobo for testing purposes and it wanted to install new drivers so I let it. It never wiped out my OS though before! I can boot on the OEM machine though and that is hwat I am going to do and delete these files.

I'll tried doing this and it work. I was switching between different chipsets in Win2k


install the new MB. Run windows 2k cd repair.
