I just read somewhere that the Creative Inspire 5300 set, (5.1) centre channel will not do anything in games? Is this true?
If I were to use these speakers with an Audigy, the centre speaker would not work during games?
i beleive that depends on the game support for the 5.1 channels. as long as the game has the support and you select the 5.1 speakers in the audigy software (mixer) i think you should get sound from the centre channel.
im not sure though, but i think there should be no problem.
I havn't seen many games with a 5.1 option. But many games incorporate surround sound. I.e. Counter strike, war craft 3, I think GTA 3 does, but I havn't played it in a week so I can't remember. But if you only have a 2 or 3 speaker set up you will notice a huge difference. If you play counter strike or any other popular FPS you will be very thankful when you hear a shot and know exactly where a person is.
For the center speaker, warcraft 3 uses it big time.

yes. older EAX 1.0 only uses 4 speakers.
but most games now support advanced HD EAX, so they have full support for a 5.1 system.

I agree with everyone else. The creative speakers should work with games but most 5.1 in games is relatively new. So most games probably dont support it.

I have the creative inspire 5.1 5300's. It all depends on the game. Some games use center channel and some don't. Im listening to the RHCP in winamp right now, and there is no central channel.
