ok my machine is in my sig, what types of FPS should i be seeing in Q3, UT, 3DMark2k1? i always upgrade my stuff and i never seem to get the performance that i should be getting. Im not disapointed in Q3, but in UT i cant even play it at 1024x768 with everything set to high, i have read of people with a far less system playing the game with way better framerates, i mean i get a LOT of stuttering in UT. the same thing with Hitman. With 3dmark2k1, i get around 9300-9700. i am just wondering if this stuff seems right. any suggestions would be really appreciated. I just ordered Jedi Knight 2 and im hoping to be able to play it completely maxed out. what do you guys think? am i just being picky, i hope not.

It wouldn't hurt to buy more RAM. UT eats RAM for dinner so 128 MB ram just doesn't cut it anymore. With alot of RAM I could play UT on my slow P4 1.3 Ghz machine with a Geforce 2 Ultra, maxed out at 1600x1200x32, and it was perfectly smooth at 60 to 80 frames per second. Also, make sure you have AGP 4x enabled in your bios and in windows.

i'd have to agree, 128 mb of ram's not really going to cut it especially if you're using XP for an OS...you can get by with 128 but you will see real improvement with more RAM.

In 3Dmark2k1 you should be seeing 9000+ points. I got 9260 with almost the same setup as yours.
dude I think you are hurting the performence of your computer with only that much ram. 1900 xp and a G4 you should have at LEAST 320 maybe close to 512 to get full use of your machine.
Thats what I think.

thanks guys, i have been planning on adding more ram, i figured 128 would be plenty enough, but i guess not, and yes i do have win xp. so more ram should increase my performance quite a bit, or will it be just a small increase, im just wanting to know what to expect

oh yeah, and i know i have agp 4x enabled in bios, but i never even knew you could enable or disable it in windows, i was just wondering about how to do that, thanks.

Any Geforce tweaker should be able to do it. Check http://www.voodoofiles.com
More RAM will certainly help. If while you are playing a game you see the hard drive light flashing alot it usually means windows is hitting the page file like mad, so more ram will keep that to a minimum.
