generic: Samsung or Micron?

In the past, i've always had better luck with micron. Micron sorta specializes in RAM, far as i know. I've never used any pc2700, so i don't know for sure, but with SDRAM, definitely micron.

It depends on what you mean by "better." Are you planning to oc? I've used Micron and Samsung before, and there's actually no real difference if you don't oc. Both are stable. There are differences if you oc, but it depends more on the model, not the brand. IOW, there are good Samsung and there are bad Samsung.
