WELCOME!

we should be able to help you get all you can out of your system, but to do that we have to know what all your system has under the hood so to speak.. all the hardware, which video card drivers, latest bios updates or no, latest via patch if using via motherboard, etc etc.. theres alot of things that you should try and list in order for us to help you the best of our abilities :D start out with all your hardware and operating system your using... welcome to forums!

[shameless plug] you might want to check out the folding area of the forums and start folding protiens for a good cause (finds cure for cancer) with you spare cpu cycles.. [/shameless plug] :D

i think you may be limited by your pci bus at this point. try upping the FSB but not too high cause your pci doesn't really like going much over 36-38mhz.

well BmanG15, i built an AMD k6-2 550mhz machine for a friend last year (he had little to no money to work with and i already had the chip laying around) and to be honest, you're never going to get stellar fps in ANY 3dmarks test with it.. however, depending on what you want to do with your machine, it may suit you well enough, and if thats the case, all the better, no need to upgrade.. i will agree with Maxvla, pci busses do not like oc'ing very well at all.. also your chip should be able to do 550 no problem, its your motherboard that will be the concern.. you may not even be able to raise the fsb, or mulitiplier or anything if its an old oem board (out of say an hold HP or Compaq machine for instance) does your system work good enough for you or does it not play a game well enough for you which is why you're trying to oc your card and system.. ? if it was me, i would not put anymore money into the system if its not up to par for you anymore.. instead i would start saving for a new one.. stick around here, read and learn, you can build a new one now for around 600 and get a HUGE performance boost over what you have now.. hope this helps

i am saving for a new PC at moment......already calculated cost of everything on it GF4ti4200,mobo,xp2200+ nad misc stuff four around 700. ANY who..i havent put money into this compuer in a few years besides the GF2mx.I am overclocking because never done it before and want to have fun with this machine before its gone. But i am still afraid to wreck anything cause, well i dont like breaking stuff...o well......ijust wanna do stuff to see what it does like performance increases in crap...i havent seen any yet, but as you said i must try and bring up FSB....this is a mobo from a computer show not a name brand one(ie- compaq,HP,dell)..so ya know. Not sure brand of mobo though........The fans i am getting are good and will swap those to my new computer......o well......any other ideas..will try FSB soon..what happens if that goes too high???/ will it freeze or fry it?!?!?! or will it just fry all my PCI stuff??

I believe when you raise the FSB too high, the motherboard won't boot.
And then you have to clear the CMOS (usually via a jumper). Or if's a motherboard that you have different jumpers for fsb changes, you need to set those back in the default position.

I had a pci mx400, i overclocked to 220 on the ram i think, and i only saw a 6fps increase on quake 3 arena, as was said pci is slow and not alot can be done on the cards to make them improve much really, but hell i had fun trying :D
