Is it worth lapping some ramsinks and a cooljag to put on my video card?

I was wondering how much if any improvement will I see if I lapp some ramsinks and a Cooljag going on my Ti4600? I sure it wont hurt the Cooljag, but the ramsinks are tin coated copper and curious how that will effect them? Thanks in advance.

Well I water cooled my graphics card (R 8500) and put some aluminum sinks on the memory. I just started to play with OCing it again and so far I am quite a bit higher than I was with a stock card.

what I mean is I already have the ramsinks (actually they are on their way) and I want to know if I should lap them or install them the way they come. Thanks.

the 4600 will have bga memory, which really doesnt get hot. ramsinks will help, but i doubt lapping them will give you any benefit.

as far as the cooljag, a lot of people really like them, but I'm not sure how it compares to any of the 4600 sinks, what brand GF4 are you getting?

I got a Chaintech refurb from Newegg, It was only 187 so I couldnt pass up on it. I know the stock cooling isnt gonna be that great. I have the Cooljag, and the ramsinks are comming. I will almost definitly lapp the cooljag, but I dont know if lapping the BGA ramsinks will improve it or hurt it.

Ramsinks are small and should be easy to lap. I think you should do it unless you are really that lazy ;) You usually always get better results lapping anyways.

I sure not lazy about lapping the AX478 I have installed I lapped for 4 hours and went to 3000 grit sandpaper:). I guess when they come in Ill take out the ol' peice of glass and my trusty sandpaper and get to work, but I think 600 will be as high as I go on them and the cooljag.

Yodums, am I not taking the right tablets or are your stars flashing?

As for the ramsinks, I do not think lapping off the tin coating is such a grand idea.
