View Full Version : I need a 3/4 inch hole
Anybody have any ideas how to make a hole that size. I have a dremel, but I"m afraid the cutting disks are to wide for a hole this small. I have a 3/4 drill bit, but none of my drills can fit it (im looking for an adapter tomorrow).
Thats all I can think of. Is there a dremel bit I can use besides the cutting wheels for cutting holes. I figure if push comes to shove, I can grind the wheel down till it is small enough and then use it.
thanks
Best bet if you don't have a 1/2" drill, take the largest metal bit that will fit in your existing drill, make your hole, and then take one of the grinding tips for the Dremel and use that to get the hole to 3/4". Just take your time and you should get a perfect hole. You can use something like these (http://www.dxmarket.com/micromark/products/81094.html), or these (http://www.dxmarket.com/micromark/products/80919.html). You should be able to find them individually in your local hardware store.
that sounds good. I thought about that, but the deburing tools that came with my kit suck. I didn't know that made heavy duty ones.

See if you can find any Step Drills, they will do what you want.

:D , this ones for you.
I think the best thing you could use would be a hole saw. You can get them at most decent hardware stores, or online (http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/ab/leno/holesaw.htm?L+coastest+qlvr0523ff34c134+1027179698 ) , and they come in both wood and metal varieties. I used a 4" hole saw, on a 3/8" drill, to cut two fan ports on my case.
Hope that helps
that was my first idea, but finding one that small has been hard. No one seems to need holes this size:( .
