are monitors supposed to give out so much heat?

my monitor seems very warm when i put my hands over the holes in the back i have the samsung 753df and was wondering if anyone else has noticed heat from this monitor or any other monitor thanks..

Yeh monitors get Hot.... i saw someone who got a little too worried about the heat and modded the monitor case and stuck 2 80mm Fans inside it... it look pretty cool tho... just try to keep the vents on top uncovered and it should be fine.;)

i got 2 19" crt's.. i'm not goin to need heating this winter :D

main rig is running dual 19" er's.. i have another 17 couple feet away, and 2 15" ers on the floor under my countertop for folding machines - (which runs along 2 walls in an L shape.. my room is SMALL) bout 9x10 if that.. a bed and computer stuff everywhere else thats about it.. you think your rooms toasty, try havin sucha small room cramed with all those monitors and 5 pc's runnin 24/7... very toasty in winter indeed.

cool, mine isnt super hot but just kinda warm but glad to know i have nothing to worry about thanks guys.

and Mr chambers : you dont turn off your monitors when not in use??

you could just about cook on top of my 21" monitor :)

i left some books piled on top of it once and it actually melted the plastic protector on one hehe.

monitors do get turned off when i sleep, but you must remember thats only for about 5 hours each night.. lol i'm an insomniac! i call my room my "cave" im workin on a new sig that will list em.. or try to anwyay :P top one is only 1600+ @1800+ with radeon 8500le @ 280/280 and second one is 800 tbird at 933 with orginal radeon 32mb ddr
