Had one major storm last night, bad enough that I unplugged everything in my house. This morning when I was booting everything back up, I found that I've got no cable connection, so this means that my dual AMD 1600+ MP machine, and my lower pentiums are down. That leaves just my dual PIII800 server and my office machine folding until the cable company gets things working again. I'm just hoping that I'll see that other green light when i get home tonight, if not I'll try resetting again, then call for support. I even unplugged the cable, so I'm sure it's not the modem.

*pulling hair out*
Just found out that it wasn't the storm that killed my cable connection! The idiots at the cable company forgot to enter my modem info into my account so after 3 weeks the modem locked up tighter than a <insert word here> If they come through for me I should be back in buisness by 8:30pm EST 07/19
Any idea on what percentage of my months bill I should subtract for 2 days without internet access and the folding time lost? my dual AMD1600+ pumps out more wu's than the rest of my machines together! If I'm not back up tonight, I'll be be setting up a modem again! I asked the guy at the cable company what their dialup number is and he told me it was no the website under technical support section! Very good telling a person who is without internet access to check the website! If he had given me the number I could have submitted 5WU's last night and hand another 5 ready when I got home tonight
Oh yeah, anyone who passes me while I'm down, be prepared because I'm looking to add another AMD machine, and am now thinking about an AMD 1800+ XP. any ideas for a good board for this that has video and lan built in?

if ur comps are lanned up u can share the dial up connections on ur other comp if i'm getting u right. u can use a program called all aboard by internet share it even works for cable and the likes.
u can share normal dial ups with win xp i think.

The networking part isn't the problem. it that the idiot at the cable company told me to get the dialup number off their website when my cable connection was down! I have that number written down to be prepared if I don't have cable tonight.

that sux, my connection goes down for a couple minutes every week or so and it feels like forever when you're sitting there waiting to go to the next website

Just checked my stats again, and either my server sent a few wu's today or my home network is back online. I'll know more in 3 hours. Without folding, my dualie must be freezing with all the fans I've installed on it!

I guess it was just my server yesterday. but I'm back at full force now. Next week I'll have the prices together and hopefully build another machine. I'll also be working at getting a few machines from work folding.
